Youthtown 2007 - A Film That Has No Name

Ok, late post, but better late than never.... right....

Well anyway, on Monday 13th of August we had the premiere of our film, what film you ask... the one I'll describe briefly now.

The concept was thought of by Reagon, who turned it into a script and storyboard in only a few weeks, his idea was a reenactment of the Virginia Tech massacre but with an artistic approach. At the beginning of the term two holidays we filmed the required shots and the day after Nick left for Fiji.
Through his limited net time we managed to get a rough cut back over here, which I then sent to Matt the composer.
On the last weekend of the holidays Nick and I did without a lot of sleep and added all the visual and audio effects needed, and were joined by Hamish on the last day.

So back to the premiere. Youthtown stuffed up the projection, stretching the widescreen copy, Nick sank into his seat, and I made light of it as i tend to do. The end came around and the awards started. The first award was best editing, and it went to..... us.... Nick and I walked up on stage, quite shocked. Next was best original score... which went to us as well (thank you Matt).

The last two awards came up, first one was best film. And that award went to "A Film"! Needless to say we were shocked more than we were before with the other awards. And so we walked off with the final award and the 17" iMac.

The Best Film award is, needless to say, the best award there, but is also the one we have never been able to claim in the time we have entered the competition.

Thank you to all people who helped either by supporting us or acting, or both. But special thanks go to Reagon, Matt, and Hamish. Oh and we can't forget Nick, our awesome Director who drives everyone forward!
